When Life Feels Like a Dead End, Take the Wheel
GREENVILLE, SC - I understand why some people think it isn't safe, or even relevant, to talk about grief and depression. It’s heavy. It’s uncomfortable. But here’s the reality: dark days will manifest. They show up in our lives, often when we are most uncertain about what to do next. And that is precisely what we need to talk about.


We’ve all got to cross this road. That’s the irony and the beauty of the human experience—we are all in this together, no matter the color of our skin or the gender we choose. The struggle is universal. It’s a solid fact that people we love will leave us. Jobs that define us will come and go. Relationships we count on will bend backwards until they break.


In those moments, life can feel like a windmill, throwing you around with no control, or a bouncy house where you just keep hitting one wall after another in a frantic, exhausting loop. I’ve been there. We all have.


But—and there is always a "but"—a moment of clarity eventually arrives. It feels like an internal GPS finally cutting through the static. A calm voice tells you, "You are going down the wrong road. You are going to hit a dead end."


That is the moment of choice. That is the time to make a U-turn.
