Miss Evers Boys
Based on true events, Miss Evers’ Boys tells the story of the infamous Tuskegee Syphilis Study — a government experiment conducted on unsuspecting Black men in Alabama from the 1930s through the 1970s. The film follows Nurse Eunice Evers (portrayed by the incomparable Alfre Woodard) as she becomes a liaison between the medical establishment and the community she serves.
Told through the lens of compassion and moral conflict, the story centers around four men — “Miss Evers’ boys” — who believe they are receiving treatment, when in fact they are being denied proper care in the name of unethical research.
